Vimeo introduces new content creator feature

Video-sharing website Vimeo is introducing Showcase, a new feature that enables content creators to create, customizable viewing experiences for audiences that can be distributed across devices, including connected TVs.

Showcase, which will initially be available with Roku and Amazon Fire, provides creators with a number of ways to present their videos and reach their audiences, with a new level of privacy control and customisation, according to Vimeo.

Creators can build a custom video portfolio with an artful layout, embed a playlist of videos that can reside on any website, or create a branded channel of videos for connected TVs, according to the company.

Vimeo will continue to evolve the new feature with more embedded layouts, live streaming support, new Showcase-specific statistics, presets to make it easier to create custom showcases and other elements.

Vimeo said the goal of Showcase was to provide creative professionals and businesses with the tools they need to succeed with video.

Showcases replace Vimeo’s existing albums feature, updating the design, and absorbs some features from its portfolios tool.
