Akamai has promoted managing director of Akamai Benelux, Hans Nipshagen, to head of EMEA channels and alliances.
In his new role Nipshagen will be responsible for the company’s EMEA channel strategy and will be tasked with growing Akamai’s regional partner programme and therefore increasing sales.
Nipshagen has worked with Akamai for more than seven years in a variety of roles, most recently as MD of Akamai Benelux and regional sales leader in Eastern Europe the Middle East and Africa. He was Akamai’s first employee in Benelux and is based in Amsterdam.
Prior to Akamai, Nipshagen worked with a range of large international carriers including Verizon and UUNET. He has more than 20 years of industry experience.
“As more and more businesses realise that the future of the internet is at the edge, there has never been more opportunities for channel organisations to drive business with a company like Akamai,” said Nipshagen.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to build on the collaboration between Akamai, local partners and customers to drive our channel ecosystem forward. Strong security protection is at the core of Akamai’s channel portfolio and is one of the fundamentals of business, so being able to combine our platform with the insight of local partners will help us all to deliver the best results for our customers.”
