Eutelsat has appointed former Technicolor executive, Gary Donnan, as chief innovation officer.
Reporting to CEO Rodolphe Belmer, Donnan will be tasked with defining Eutelsat’s innovation roadmap and developing innovation initiatives across the group.
He will also focus on creating stronger links with innovative companies in order to step up the roll-out of emerging technologies at Eutelsat.
Donnan joins the satellite firm after 11 years at Technicolor, during which time he was a member of Technicolor’s executive committee and was successively executive vice president (EVP) for research and innovation, then EVP for technology and standards.
“This appointment is part of our strategy to accelerate our transformation in order to be more open and agile to a constantly changing environment,” said Belmer.
“The appointment of Gary to Eutelsat offers a remarkable opportunity for all of us. His extensive experience within leading companies within the video and telecommunication industries will be invaluable in further aligning our innovation roadmap with the evolving requirements of our customers.”
