Caribbean operator Amplia partners with Zappware

Caribbean internet, TV and phone provider Amplia has partnered with Zappware to offer a multi-operator digital TV solution across the region.

Amplia said it will revamp its TV platform in Trinidad and Tobago and use that deployment to launch a TV as a Service (TVaaS) offering to regional service providers.

“This partnership will enable our TVaaS solution to give network operators across The Caribbean region the ability to quickly launch advanced video services to their subscribers,” said Amplia managing director Lisa Agard.

“We have the ambition to grow with new TV services with a new platform serving our local operation as well as to serve English-speaking Caribbean islands with advanced video services.”

Zappware CEO, Patrick Vos, said: “Amplia needed a platform with advanced features as well the tools to deploy several telco’s across their region in a flexible way.”

Zappware has provided its NeXX4.0 configurable user interface along with a hybrid solution that is capable of serving DVB and IP / OTT via an Android set-top box – allowing for linear channels, third party content and apps within the Google ecosystem.
