Spotify will be the first editorial partners for Canal+’s music player, Jack. The pair will collaborate to provide a series of productions including video content for the platform.
Canal+ will use Spotify’s data to create content for the platform.
Jack will be part of the Canal+ Creative Media digital offering, which comprises platforms including Clique and Detours. The platforms are commercialised by Canal+’s advertising arm, Canal+ Régie as part of its branded content initiatives.
The service, available at Jack.Canalplus.fr, will provide exclusive content including reports covering backstage activity, artist interviews and daily articles on music news.
Jack will make use of Spotify user data to create features including Data Quizz, Data of the Week and Mister Météo. It will also provide the ability to discover Spotify thematic playlists provided by Canal+ personalities including Antonie de Caunes, Bapt & Gael and Marion Seclin, as well as Studio Bagel-produced fiction series Les Dessous du Rock, featuring Redouanne Harjane, Oxmo Puccino and Jonathan Lambert.
Canal+ Régie, which offers multiscreen advertising across TV, desktop and mobile paltfomrs as well as UGC cinemas, has moved to develop platforms and services that work across Vivendi Group properties such as Dailymotion and Universal Music & Brands.
