Canal+ has named journalist Virginie Chomicki as deputy CEO at news channel iTélé, in charge of the development of Cnews, the new brand for the service.
Chomicki previously worked on international political coverage for TV5 Monde.
The appointment follows Vivendi chairman Vincent Bolloré’s decision to rebrand the group’s free-to-air channels D8, D17 and iTélé respectively as C8, C17 and Cnews.
Canal+ Group director of communication Laurence Gallot has meanwhile been named as director of partnerships in addition to her current role.
Gallot has been director of communication for Canal+ Group since 2002.
