Lovefilm launches new app for LG TVs

Amazon-owned Lovefilm has launched an enhanced Lovefilm Instant streaming application on LG Smart TVs in the UK and Germany. 

The new version of the app includes an improved search function and recommendation engine and the addition of Lovefilm’s Watchlist feature, allowing users to plan their viewing.

The features are complemented by LG’s Magic Remote Control, which uses point, motion, wheel and voice gesture to control the smart TV interface.

The app also includes a display that keeps track of what is currently being viewed and the last location reached in that video, enabling viewers to resume viewing from the same spot on any Lovefilm Instant-enabled device.

The app is available on LG’s full range of 2012 and 2013 Smart TVs, including the recently launched 55-inch Curved OLED and 84-inch Ultra HD TV

Lovefilm said its new app would soon be made available on all remaining Lovefilm Instant-enabled platforms.
