Turksat has chosen Conax to deploy its Contego content security technology for the development of its cable TV services.
In 2008, the Ankara-based cable TV and satellite operator deployed a Conax CAS7 solution for the launch of its new digital platform. Following an upgrade of the platform, Conax Contego is currently enabling distribution of services from Turksat’s 26 head-ends, providing 140 TV and radio channels to 600,000 digital TV subscribers and providing 55 TV channels to 1.3 million analogue subscribers across the country.
“In 2008, we chose a Conax solution based on its strong security record, wide range of services, reliability, and flexibility. Conax has proven to be a stable security partner, and also provides foresight and support of business models today and for the future,” said Abdulkadir Sener, director of cable TV systems and operations, Turksat. “The smooth upgrade from CAS7 allowed Turksat to focus on our core business, providing highest quality offering for pay content, without disruptions.”
