Telekom Austria rebrands IPTV service, adds foreign channels

Telekom Austria has rebranded its IPTV offering to A1 Kabel TV and expanded the service to include more regional and foreign-language channels.

The platform, formerly known as aonTV, is now offering more Serbian and Turkish channels as well as 10 new foreign-language channels. The number of channels in A1 Kabel TV’s basic package will increase by 20 to include over 110 channels, in addition to 30 premium and 10 HD channels. Along with additional Serbian and Turkish channels, the service will provide Chinese, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian and Spanish TV channels for the first time. The price of the package will remain at €4.90 per month.

Claudia Winkler, chief marketing officer at Telekom Austria Group, said: “With a total of 150 TV channels, we are now offering our customers an unprecedented variety of programmes. Austrian residents with roots abroad are able to have the same level of the latest developments in their home countries with first-hand news in their mother tongue. We have recognized these multicultural needs and we will continue to adjust our international offering accordingly.”
