British commercial broadcaster ITV is planning to launch a catch-up channel for its main network as long as regulators relax the contract rights renewal (CRR) advertising rules.
The broadcaster is eyeing the launch of an ITV+1 channel in October via digital terrestrial service Freeview, free-to-air satellite service Freesat and cable operator Virgin Media. However, the company is waiting until the countrys Competition Commission has finished its review of the CRR rules, which govern how much ITV is allowed to charge advertisers.
