BBC extends channel deal with YouTube

BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of UK public broadcaster the BBC, has extended its content deal with YouTube and plans to launch a raft of new channels on the site. The renewal means that a range of BBC clips and programming will continue to be available on the dedicated BBC Worldwide channel.

The agreement also clears the way for a new YouTube channel, Explore, which will showcase BBC factual programming including Amazon with Bruce Parry, The Race for Everest and Extreme Dinosaurs. The BBC said it will also launch online comedy and natural history channels and a US-only entertainment channel, BBC America.
