Grey Juice Lab extends Lat Am deal with Telefónica

On-demand aggregator Grey Juice Lab has strengthened its relationship with Telefónica in Latin America after being chosen to provide content and services for its Movistar Play video-on-demand service in Peru.

Movistar Play Peru, which was already offering movies via subscription and catch up, has worked with Grey Juice Lab to launch a transactional model. The new service will feature a TVOD catalogue of more than 500 movies from studios including Warner Bros., Disney, NBC Universal, Paramount, Fox and Lionsgate.

In the coming months, Movistar Play´s customers will be able to rent titles including Beauty and the Beast, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Cars 3, Despicable Me 3 and Wonder Woman.

The multiscreen service will be available on set-tops, PCs, mobile phones and smart TVs.

This is the latest in a series of Movistar Play services for which Grey Juice Lab offers premium content and services including content processing and delivery, subtitle and metadata creation, content programming and marketing. Other territories include Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Central America and most recently Ecuador, where Movistar Play launched a few weeks ago.

Damián Craimowicz, regional director for Grey Juice Lab LATAM said, “Peru is a country that has been steadily growing in the region and we believe Movistar Play is now well equipped to be the leader in the entertainment market. Grey Juice Lab will do everything it can to help Telefonica make that happen. For us, having a team located in Buenos Aires is key. Being part of the same region, only a few hours away from each country, gives us the necessary insight and resource to understand the local needs and resolve any issue with effective and creative solutions.”
