UKTV, NBCU join BAFTA environmental body

UKTV, NBCUniversal International Television Production and Shed Media are joining the BAFTA Albert Consortium – an industry body for environmental sustainability in TV production.

The three firms join existing consortium members, including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, and producers like Kudos, Twofour, Endemol and All3Media.

Samantha Jukes-Adams, VP of production for NBCUniversal International Television Production, said: “As a significant player in the UK production market, we are committed to make our programmes as sustainable as possible.

Membership to the BAFTA Albert Consortium allows us to both learn and contribute to best practice for low carbon production.”

The Albert Consortium formed in 2011 and oversees a number of projects related to sustainable production, increasing awareness of the environmental impact of TV production process in the UK and oversees.
