Sambrook to step down as head of BBC news

The BBC’s director of global news Richard Sambrook is to leave the corporation to join PR firm Edelman. Sambrook, who helped to launch TV channels including BBC News 24, BBC World News, BBC Arabic and BBC Persian will join Edelman as global vice-chairman and chief content officer in May.
