BBC secures World Athletics Championships coverage

BBC is to air the World Athletics Championships across its linear, radio and digital platforms from August 19.

The UK pubcaster will air coverage of every event from the championships taking placing in Budapest later this month.

TV hosts Gabby Logan and Jeanette Kwakye will present the sporting event that wraps up on August 27. The pair are joined by world-class former athletes Michael Johnson, Dame Jessica Ennis Hill, Dame Denise Lewis, Colin Jackson, Paula Radcliffe, Steve Cram and Steve Backley, with commentary also coming from Andrew Cotter

World Athletics Extra will provides additional analysis on the day’s events at 9pm on BBC Three from August 21.

While Katharine Merry and Allison Curbishley will lead live coverage of the event on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds.

The BBC will also deliver results, live text commentary, clips and highlights on the BBC Sport website, app and social media platforms.

Star athletes such as Dina Asher Smith, Daryll Neita, Keely Hodgkinson and Zharnel Hughes will share additional expert insight.
