Fox Sports renews Formula 1 relationship in Mexico

Fox Sports Mexico has extended its partnership with racing circuit Formula 1 for three additional years until 2025. The decision closely follows the news that F1 will continue to hold a Grand Prix in Mexico City until at least the 2025 season.

Ian Holmes, director of content and rights, Formula 1, said: “Mexico is a special place on the calendar that attracts an increasing number of fans each year. Following the announcement that F1 will continue to race in Mexico City for another three years, I am pleased our successful broadcast partnership with Fox Sports México continues.”

Cristina Ruiz de Velasco, general director of Fox Sports México, added: “At Fox Sports México we know Formula 1 fans are growing every day, this renewal of exclusive broadcast rights is very important to us.”

Formula 1 returned to Mexico in 2015 and since that time the event has become a very popular race for fans, drivers and the teams. Between 2015 and 2021, the event generated $2.4bn in economic activity for Mexico and created 57,080 jobs.
