Canal+ names StudioCanal chief Marsh as deputy CEO

Anna Marsh

StudioCanal CEO Anna Marsh has been appointed deputy CEO of the production and distribution firm’s owner, Canal+ Group.

Anna Marsh, who was appointed to the Canal+ management board earlier this year, joined StudioCanal in 2008 and initially started out in sales, holding roles including EVP of international sales.

She became MD of the London-based sales division in 2019, initially reporting into Nicola Shindler, who was appointed CEO of Studiocanal UK in September 2018.

Marsh was then promoted to CEO of the wider StudioCanal group in December 2019, replacing the outgoing Didier Lupfer. Shindler, who had joined StudioCanal after it acquired her Red Production Company, departed in 2020 to launch ITV Studios-backed Quay Street Productions.

Maxime Saada, chairman of Canal+ Group, said: “Anna Marsh is a great professional, and a passionate person, whom the group is proud to count among its own. This appointment is a new illustration of the confidence Canal+ Group has in her and of her now transversal role within the Group.”

The deal follows StudioCanal’s acquisition of a majority stake in Benelux film outfit Dutch FilmWorks.
