Imearth, a new ‘slow TV’ channel set to launch in France and internationally next year, has chosen Cognacq-Jay Image’s IP Play service for playout and distribution.
Imearth offers a diet of nature, travel, culture and heritage, discovery, sports and lifestyle programming. The channel aims to immerse the viewer in a slow TV experience, including filmed walks in nature and the work of seasoned craftsmen.
The channel will launch in January with a yet-to-be-named French telecom operator.
Mediadvocate, the company behind the channel, turned to Cognacq-Jay Image for playout and media management to make the service available to distributors in France and abroad.
Mathieu Vimont, co-founder and editorial lead at the channel, said: “It is important for us to focus on the content we air. Using the services of Cognacq-Jay Image allows to lighten the technical burden and to have a partner that is reliable and recognised in the market. In every case it is elemental to be able to count on the benefit of quality to ensure our future development.”
