M7 Group names de Nooijer as European OTT director

M7 Group, one of Europe’s leading pay TV providers, has appointed Mertijn de Nooijer as OTT director for Europe.

De Nooijer joins from Discovery and will report to Stefano Colombo, vice-president of content at M7.

The appointment of de Nooijer reinforces M7’s ambition to further strengthen its hybrid TV proposition, combining the benefits of linear television viewing with the growing consumer demand for OTT.

“We are very pleased with the appointment of Mertijn,” said Colombo. “He has a deep knowledge of the international media landscape and brings a ton of experience in traditional and new digital content distribution to the table. Moreover, he has an outstanding track record on negotiating multi-territory content-licensing deals.”

M7, based in Luxembourg, controls several European platforms including CanalDigitaal and Online.nl in the Netherlands, TV Vlaanderen and TéléSAT in Belgium, HD Austria in Austria, Skylink for the Czech and Slovak markets and Diveo in Germany.
