Eutelsat has appointed former IBM executive Philippe Oliva as executive vice-president of sales and products.
Oliva is due to take up his new role on September 3 and will report to deputy CEO and chief commercial and development officer, Michel Azibert.
He is due to succeed Azibert as commercial director during 2019, with Azibert set to continue on as deputy CEO.
“I am delighted to welcome Philippe Oliva to Eutelsat, where he will bring his extensive experience of sales organisation in a high-tech international company,” said Eutelsat CEO Rodolphe Belmer.
“His expertise will undoubtedly contribute to further enhancing the quality of the solutions and services we offer our clients.Michel’s contribution to Eutelsat’s development is invaluable. I am delighted he will continue to apply his experience and leadership as Deputy CEO.”
Oliva was previously vice president and managing director of strategic accounts at IBM. He joined IBM in 1999 and held several senior positions there during his career.
