Accedo debuts Operator Tier Android TV Launcher

Video app specialist Accedo has launched its Operator Tier Android TV Launcher as a platform within the Accedo Studio Pay TV edition product. 

According to Accedo, the Launcher enables pay TV operators to embrace and extend their set-top-box video services to the Android TV ecosystem.

The company says it will allow pay TV operators to differentiate their video services, own the user experience, and prioritize their content ahead of third-party content; all while achieving a short time to market. Integration to an operator’s content management systems, video infrastructure, and other back-office components is supported.

Providing a personalized, recommendation-enabled user experience, in combination with a traditional broadcast channel guide, the Accedo Studio Operator Tier Launcher for Android TV gives access to OTT and broadcast services including: recordings; catch-up TV; movies on-demand, TV on-demand in addition to Android app-based content.

Accedo’s cloud-based user interface management platforms allow the operator to re-brand, re-skin, and re-configure the Launcher with a customized user interface for each deployment.

At IBC, Accedo will be demonstrating the Operator Tier Android TV Launcher, part of Accedo Studio Pay TV, on a range of certified Android TV set-top boxes from Accedo’s hardware partners.
