Arkena and Intertrust Technologies Corporation have formed a partnership to deliver premium OTT services.
Under the agreement, Arkena’s new OTT Service Manager will include technology components from Intertrust’s SyncTV platform and DRM from Intertrust’s ExpressPlay service.
ExpressPlay is a cloud-based DRM provider based on the studio-approved Marlin protection technology.
“Intertrust’s partnership with Arkena unites two leaders and allows Arkena to provide robust content security technology using a world-class cloud OTT platform,” said Gilles Boccon-Gibod, Intertrust’s managing director, EMEA.
Ivan Dulguerian, CMO of Arkena, added: “Intertrust pioneered Digital Rights Management technology over 25 years ago, and provides one of the best cloud solutions today. Using standards-based technology immunises our customers from dependencies on proprietary agendas. This partnership of leaders will provide advanced, scalable, secure, and trusted video delivery services in Europe and beyond.”
Arkena’s OTT Service Manager is also now being used to service French broadcaster TF1’s transactional VoD system MYTF1VOD. This deployment supports all popular network TVs and game consoles and features the use of ExpressPlay solution for Marlin encrypted MPEG-DASH streams on Android, iOS and HbbTV apps.
