Content security specialist Verimatrix has extended its relationship with France’s Bouygues Telecom, adding Verimatrix’s VCAS for Broadcast-Hybrid product to its existing line-up of security solutions to protect its new Android TV box client devices, which offer a new class of premium home video service.
VCAS for Broadcast-Hybrid is a cardless revenue security solution that draws on Verimatrix’s VCAS for Internet TV and VCAS for IPTV lines and also provides harmonised rights management for subscribers at home and on the go. Bouygues Telecom’s IPTV service is delivered to set-top boxes, tablets, iPads and portable displays.
Bouygues’ Project Miami is based on the Android OS and will deliver premium IPTV and Android applications on TV. Ericsson served as the systems integrator for the project, with Verimatrix ecosystem partners IfeelSmart, iWedia, and Marvell also playing roles.
“Verimatrix is a reliable partner for Bouygues Telecom, and we trust them to provide us with robust, cost-effective revenue security solutions to support the full range of our multi-screen initiatives,” said Pierre Schaller, SVP Innovation and Strategic Alignment at Bouygues Telecom. “We consistently choose to collaborate with them because of their ongoing commitment to innovation, as well as their flexibility and ability to easily scale when we add new services.”
“We are delighted to again collaborate with our valued customer Bouygues Telecom,” said Steve Oetegenn, president, Verimatrix. “VCAS for Broadcast-Hybrid offers Bouygues Telecom a compelling software-centric video service security solution that will enable them to better respond to new standards, new opportunities and the rapidly changing market dynamics,” said Steve Oetegenn, president, Verimatrix.
