UPC Austria has become the latest cable operator to trial broadband speeds in excess of 1Gbps.
In a field trail, the company achieved a maximum broadband speed of 1.3Gbps. It follows Finish operator DNA’s 1.58Gbps trial last month, which it claimed to be a world record.
In July, UK cable operator Virgin Media successfully delivered broadband speeds of 1.5Gbps to an area of London. The UK cable operator claimed it was 240 times the national UK average.
