Entone teams with Nordija

Hybrid and connected TV set-top provider Entone has teamed up with IPTV software specialist Nordija to integrate Nordija’s fokusOn widget-based middleware on Entone’s family of hybrid TV devices and DVR boxes.

This fully integrated solution offers service operators a more efficient and cost-effective solution that can be quickly and easily deployed for delivering advanced Hybrid TV and over-the-top (OTT) services.

Entone’s Hybrid TV solution supports IP video delivery and traditional terrestrial, cable and satellite broadcast video delivery. The product line includes: Kamai, a hybrid/OTT receiver with an entry-level price; Amulet, a full-featured hybrid DVR with networking options such as Wi-Fi and HomePNA; Janus, a multi-stream media hub for multi-room environments; and Magia DVR that incorporates features specifically for cable operators, including a DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS modem, MoCA and up to four digital tuners.

Entone products are available in certified configurations for the EMEA and Americas regions.

“Entone’s Hybrid TV devices with Nordija’s fokusOn widget-based middleware platform will help operators accelerate time to market, lower deployment risks, offer competitive core TV services, while providing a platform to enable the delivery of emerging cloud-based services,” said Bart Vanderostyne, director of EMEA at Entone.

Nordija’s fokusOn middleware includes a programme guide, video-on-demand and network DVR support, and the ability to watch YouTube, update Facebook and receive Twitter tweets on TV. Other features include email, sharing photos via Flickr and the ability to follow RSS feeds.

Entone will be exhibiting at IBC on Stand 13.266
