T-VIPS to launch MPEG-4 contribution platform

T-VIPS, hitherto known for its expertise in JPEG2000, will use IBC to announce the launch of an MPEG-4 contribution encoder and decoder.

T-VIPS is using the show to launch the TVG650, an MPEG-4 contribution encoder, and the TVG610, an MPEG-4 contribution decoder. Both products will be available for shipping in the fourth quarter.
The TVG610 and TVG650 are part of T-VIPS’ video gateway line of products designed for real-time contribution. The new products can handle the encoding and decoding of MPEG- 4, 4:2:2, 10-bit video, supporting output on ASI and IP/Ethernet.

“The launch of our new TVG650 encoder and TVG610 decoder is an important next step in realizing T-VIPS’ vision of providing contribution solutions offering the best possible video transport performance,” said Johnny Dolvik, CEO, T-VIPS. “The TVG610 and TVG650 complement our pioneering work in JPEG2000, expanding our portfolio of high-end contribution solutions to meet the needs of customers using satellite and lower bandwidth telco links. The launch of the TVG610 and TVG650 means that whatever type of contribution link you’re using, there’s now a high-quality T-VIPS video gateway that meets your video contribution requirements.”

The TVG650 and TVG610 can be combined with other T-VIPS products to provide a complete satellite or telco contribution solution, in particular the CP525 cMUX remultiplexer for processing, multiplexing and scrambling of MPEG-2 transport streams and the TNS541 TS monitoring switch for 1+1 redundancy switchover between two MPEG-2 transport streams.

T-VIPS will be exhibiting at IBC on Stand 1.B71.
