KATV1 to launch 3D TV in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan cable operator KATV1 has begun trialing 3D TV services ahead of a planned launch in 2012, according to local reports. Company spokesman Husein Husein-Zade said that the 3D service, which is currently in beta-testing, would be offered as part of one of the operator’s existing packages.

Azerbaijan to launch digital-terrestrial TV

Digital terrestrial television is launching in Azerbaijan after the country’s government approved a new law. The communication and information technology ministry has approved the plan that will see up to 12 channels launch. The service will also see the suspension of analogue transmitters from January 1 2012.
