Shorts International, the owner of short-form content channel ShortsTV, has announced a deal with Rakuten TV.
The deal will bring the network’s free-to-view channels Shorts and Cortos to the platform across Europe.
The Shorts channel will initially launch in the UK, Italy, Spain (as ‘Cortos’) and throughout the Nordics. Each market will be offered unique content, including the award-winning Killing Thyme, Departures, and Oscar shortlisted The Kicksled Choir.
ShortsTV CEO and Founder, Carter Pilcher, said: “Entertainment consumption is evolving in ways that are extremely well suited to high quality short films and series. We are excited to be rolling out FAST channels, alongside our subscription products, that satisfy the needs of audiences and advertisers alike. This latest partnership with Rakuten TV will make the ShortsTV experience available to millions more European households.”
