Ukraine’s Zeonbud expects seven million DTT viewers by year-end

Ukrainian digital-terrestrial TV operator Zeonbud expects seven million people in the country to be watching the service by the end of the year, according to CEO Viktor Galich. Galich said about 40,000 receivers were sold on the May Day holiday alone. Zeonbud is rolling out DVB-T2-based digital-terrestrial services across Ukraine.

Ukrainian broadcaster 1+1 has hired seasoned UK TV executive David Brook as its head of strategic marketing. Brook has worked at Channel 4 and Channel 5 in the UK and more recently at Scottish broadcaster STV. Volia names new technology chief

Ukrainian cable operator Volia has named Aleksandr Gnidyuk as its new director of technology. Gnidyuk, who will be charged with supervising the continuing rollout of HD services and the modernisation of regional networks, among other things, previously worked in senior positions for Ukraine’s Centre for Global Communications and service providers FreshTel and Golden Telecom.
