Modern Times Group ups sales and revenues

Modern Times Group has reported an 8% increase in revenues of SEK9.8 billion (€1 billion) for the first nine months of the year. The broadcast group’s pre-tax profit for the period was SEK1.3 billion. For the three months to end-September, revenues were up 4%, taking the total to SEK3.1 billion.

Swedish broadcaster TV4 has appointed David Österlund as head of distribution. Österlund has worked for TV4 Group for 14 years, most recently as head of business development within distribution. He will take up his new position on October 1.

Viasat names programming chief

Viasat Broadcasting has named Daniela Neumann as vice-presdent of central programming. Neumann, who was previously acting controller of entertainment at ITV, will take up her post with the Scandinavian broadcaster on September 1 and will report to senior vice-president of programming and entertainment Jakob Mejlhede.
