Russian service provider MegaFon has acquired regional TV and internet provider Yugratel for a reported RUB2.4 billion (€57 million). Yugratel operates in the Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous region in western Siberia, and is the dominant cable TV provider in the region’s largest city, Surgut.

Russian DTH operator NTV-Plus has developed an app for LG Smart TVs. The app gives direct access to various sports channels offered on NTV-Plus’ platform, covering domestic football matches, and the UEFA Champions League along with tennis, basketball and handball tournaments. LG Smart TV owners can access the app for RUB75 (€1.50) per week.
