UPC Austria adds Sixx

UPC Austria is adding ProSiebenSat.1’s female skewing network Sixx Austria to its line-up. Sixx will launch on July 3, replacing Austria 9. The channel airs US series including Vampire Diaries and Desperate Housewives.

UPC Cablecom takes ProSiebenSat.1 channels

German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 has inked a distribution deal with Swiss cable operator UPC Cablecom. The agreement will see the Swiss versions of Sat.1, ProSieben and Kabel Eins air on the service in high definition. The channels will launch in June and is the latest carriage deal between the two companies.

ProSiebenSat.1 and RTL fail in online platform bid

German broadcasters ProSiebenSat.1 and RTL have failed in their bid to jointly launch an online platform. In February, the German Federal Cartel office blocked a proposal by the broadcasters to develop a common online TV platform because of antitrust concerns. A regional court in Düsseldorf has refused an appeal against the decision.

Analysts have upgraded their forecasts on ProSiebenSat.1 after the German broadcast group posted solid financial results yesterday.
