Latvian IPTV service Lattelecom TV has added music channel iConcerts HD to its on-demand line-up. iConcerts HD offers video coverage of popular and classical music concerts.

Lattelecom offers free WiFi access

Lattelecom has begun offering free access to WiFi hotspots to its TV and broadband customers. The Latvian telco operates over 1,300 public WiFi access points. Its customers can use them for no extra charge and will not be subject to data limits.

Lattelecom launches multiscreen service

Latvian telco Lattelecom has launched a 16 channel multiscreen TV service. From today, users can stream the channels, which include LTV1, LTV7, LNT and TV5 Kanāls2, to smartphones, tablets and PCs. The service supports Apple and Android devices. Lattelecom’s IPTV platform offers 22 channels and a VOD service featuring 400 titles.

Lattelecom extends fibre network

Latvian telco Lattelecom has build out its fibre network in the town of Krāslavā in the eastern part of the country. The move gives access to the telco’s fibre network to a further 2,520 households. Lattelecom’s fibre network, offering internet speeds of up to 500Mbps, is currently available to 415,000 households, mostly in Riga.

Lattelecom adds E! and NBA TV HD channels

Latvian cable operator Baltcom has added Russian-language channel Oruzhie (Weapons) to its channel line-up. The channel, which is devoted to all kinds of weaponry, replaces gambling channel ProPoker, which has ceased broadcasting via satellite. The channel is available on Baltcom’s basic tier.

Modern Times Group acquires Latvia’s LNT
