Virgin Media partners with Harmonic

UK cable operator Virgin Media is using Harmonic as a video delivery services partner for its TV Anywhere service, Harmonic announced today.  Virgin, which launched its multi-screen TV service in November, is using Harmonic’s ProMedia family, which transcodes MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC H.264 content to high-quality adaptive bit-rate streams.
