Unitymedia expands VOD availability

Liberty Global-owned German cable operator Unitymedia has expanded the availability of its video-on-demand service. The operator’s VOD service is now available in Hurth, in the Frankfurt area and in parts of the Ruhr, including Bochum, Duisburg and Dortmund. Unitymedia expects to activate VOD in its other regions by the middle of May.

Vivendi planning ‘Netflix-like’ SVOD service

French media giant Vivendi is reportedly making plans to launch a subscription video-on-demand service in Germany.
