ADMC plans HD launch


Pan regional broadcaster Abu Dhabi Media Company is to launch a high definitional channel in October. The network – Abu Dhabi HD – will feature a range of drama, movies, sports programming including English Premier League games and documentaries and will be available via pay-TV platform E-vision in the UAE.

DartyBox adds channels

French IPTV service DartyBox TV has added four new channels to its line up. Subscribers can now watch Channel One Russia, pan-African information and entertainment channel Vox Africa, Arabic kids channel Al Jazeera Children and sister channel Baraem TV, which targets Arabic-speaking preschoolers aged 3-6 years old. Thema distributes the channels in France.

AETN creates History in the Benelux

AETN has secured carriage deals for its History and History HD channels in the Benelux region. Deals have been secured for both channels on Canal Digitaal and Delta in the Netherlands. In Belgium they will now be carried on TV Vlaanderen.

M6 maintains profit despite ad revenue drop

French commercial channel M6 managed to produce net income of €80.1m for the first half of 2009, up from €79.2m year-on-year, despite a 14% decline in advertising revenues.
