Virgin closes US$1bn equivalent of Senior Notes

Virgin Media has confirmed the closing of a US$1bn (€706m) bond offering due in 2016. The bond is made up of a US$750m tranche and a €180m tranche bearing interest at rate of 9.5% per annum. CEO Neil Berkett said it demonstrated “the confidence investors have in our business and growth prospects”.
