SES Astra signs Spanish broadband deal

Satellite operator SES Astra has signed a new contract to market its high-speed internet access product ASTRA2Connect to Spanish consumers. Distribution partner Net2 will market ASTRA2Connect in the Iberian Peninsula, including the Balearic Islands of Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza. Pilat launches advertising management solution

Broadcast management system specialist Pilat Media has unveiled an advanced advertising management solution to integrate targeted and traditional advertising campaigns. IBMS:OnTarget is an add-on product for its IBMS sales system. Pilat said the new solution enables content and service providers to integrate targeted and traditional advertising using the same campaign and inventory management software.  

NHK launches on Freesat

Japanese public broadcaster NHK’s English-language international news channel has launched on UK free-to-air DTH platform Freesat. NHK World TV is available via Freesat’s news and sports programme guide.

RGB Networks reaches US$100m shipments

Network video processing company RGB Networks has revealed shipments of more than US£100m (€77m), claiming that 2008 was the company’s most successful year to-date. RGB Networks said that in just over three years it has shipped 6,000 ad insertion, HD and VOD delivery products to 140 customers in 24 countries.

Nokia sells mobile TV unit

Mobile phone manufacturer Nokia has sold its enterprise mobile TV unit to India’s Wipro. The Mobile Broadcast Solutions unit creates software and hardware to enable mobile TV technology on a mobile handset to find and access the broadcasting network.
