News Corp names MySpace chief

News Corp has named Owen Van Natta as CEO of its MySpace social networking subsidiary. Van Natta, who will report to chief digital officer Jonathan Miller, was previously chief revenue officer and vice-president of operations at Facebook. 

Portugal details switchover plans

Portuguese authorities have confirmed 26 April 2012 as the date by which digital switchover in the country must be complete.  Local communications regulator Anacom will now publish a detailed plan for the implementation of switchover. A group, headed by an Anacom representative, will monitor the process and coordinate the efforts parties involved in the process.

Kabel BW posts strong quarterly results

German cable operator Kabel BW ended the first quarter of 2009 with 191,000 pay-TV customers, up 16% year-on-year. The operator reported 415,000 internet and telephony customers, 145,000 more that a year earlier. Revenues increased 17% to €116.8m and EBITDA reached €55.4m, up 43%. 

MTV’s mobile service in Malta is GO

SES reports strong results but warns on future
