Comstar-UTS turns in strong second quarter results

Russian service provider Comstar-UTS reported consolidated revenues of US$363.6m (€255m) for the quarter, which it said represented an increase of 19% year-on-year in rouble terms. Operating income before depreciation and amortisation was US$149.3m, up 28% in rouble terms. Ascent Media names operations chief

Media services provider Ascent Media has named Rhodri Evans as head of its operations facility in London. Evans was previously transmission operations manager at the facility and acted as project manager for automated continuity and widescreen projects, high-profile projects for key Ascent customer Discovery.

German telco Versatel is the latest name to be linked with cable operator Orion.
