Content Innovation Awards 2016 – the evening in pictures

BT, Liberty Global, Orange and Sky Italia were among the winners at Digital TV Europe’s Content Innovation Awards held on 16th October on the eve of MIPCOM in Cannes, with Fox UK, Endemol Shine Beyond and others also taking home key awards.

Digital TV Europe’s Content Innovation Awards saw 230 leading TV industry executives, technologists and creatives gather for a Gala Dinner event in the Carlton Hotel’s spectacular Grand Salon in Cannes last Sunday to see outstanding achievements recognised across 18 awards categories.

The annual event, organized by Digital TV Europe in partnership with sister title TBI, saw companies including BT, Liberty Global, Orange, Sky Italia, Fox UK, Endemol Shine Beyond and others take home awards. Digital TV editor Stuart Thomson and TBI editor Stewart Clarke presented the awards along with host Anne de Baetzelier.

The opening award of the evening Advanced TV Innovation of the Year, went to Yospace and Channel 4 for Dynamic Ad Insertion for Live Simulcast in All4

The award for UHD Initiative of the Year went to to BT Sport UHD

The Millennials Award went to Endemol Shine Beyond’s Awesomeness TV for the international roll-out of Awesomeness TV

Sky Italia won The Multiscreen TV Award for D-Zero

Piyush Prasad from sponsor Mahindra Comviva presented Africanews with the award for Best New Channel Launch

Keshet International won the award for Industry Innovator of the Year

Zodiak Rights were the winners of the Best Series Launch of the Year for Versailles

BT Sport had their second win of the night with the Second Screen Experience Technology Award

Virtual Reality Initiative of the Year went to Red Bull Media House for Helicopter Acrobatics.

The OTT Initiative of the Year award was picked up by Curzon Home Cinema

Liberty Global received the Pay TV Initiative of the Year award for Ziggo’s Replay TV

Award-15_Channel_Year_FoxUK

Fox UK took home the Channel of the Year award.

Award-16_Breakout_Drama_Gaumont

The final award of the night, Breakout International Drama, was presented to Gaumont Television for Narcos.
