Webinar I Embracing Android TV™ and BYOD Strategies – Opportunities and Challenges

There are opportunities and challenges for pay-TV operators looking to incorporate Android TV and bring-your-own device strategies into their portfolio. The 2019 Industry Survey conducted by DTVE shows that of the principal choices facing operators today, Android TV operator tier rates as conferring the greatest benefit, as it gives operators prime access to content via Google Play and can be deployed quickly and easily. Respondents were overwhelmingly positive about the benefits of BYOD in theory, while acknowledging its challenges, namely the view that operators can’t ensure the prominence of their own services in a BYOD environment.

Watch Stuart Thomson, Editor of Digital TV Europe and experts from TiVo for a panel-style discussion providing their valuable insights and perspectives on the survey findings, including:

  • How to best leverage Android TV and BYOD strategies to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive video landscape
  • Explore the technology implications of these findings for pay-TV operators as they look to re-tooling to a next-generation video service
  • How can technology companies such as TiVo add value to the Android TV and BYOD ecosystems

Further topics covered from DTVE’s industry survey will include:

  • Is the set-top box headed for extinction or will it remain a lynchpin of pay TV?
  • What are the attractions and disadvantages of the Android TV Operator Tier?
  • What factors could lead operators to embrace a bring-your-own-device strategy?
