TDC sells Swedish unit to Tele2

Denmark’s TDC Group has struck a deal to sell its Swedish subsidiary to Tele2 for SEK2.9 billion (€311 million).

Tele2 will acquire TDC Sweden’s customers, over 800 employees and the company’s local infrastructure.

TDC said the sale of the Swedish unit completes the strategic review of its businesses it launched in January, and that it would now focus its resources on its continuing operations in Denmark and Norway.

TDC had a turnover of SEK3.38 billion in 2015, compared with Tele2’s SEK12.63 billion turnover. The company as 3.7 mobile customers in the country.

TDC CEO Pernille Erenbjerg said that Tele2 would a “great partner” for TDC Group and that the pair would develop cooperation over the coming years.
