Germany’s M-net launches IPTV offering with ABOX42 set-tops

TV-Set-ABOX42-MNetGerman regional telecom operator M-net has launched an IPTV service using set-top boxes provided by Germany-based ABOX42.

The TV service, M-net TVplus, will be deployed over M-net’s fibre network in the southern part of the country.

The ABOX42 M20 box, in combination with Swiss TV technology provider Zattoo’s multiscreen white-label IPTV solution was selected by cable marketing organisaiton Deutsche Netzmarketing (DNMG) at the end of 2015 to offer a end-to-end solution to all of its members.

M-net, which is Germany’s second-largest fibre network provider, said that the TV service, which went live this month, has already exceeded expectations in Terms of the orders received to date.

M-net is offering a selection of about 100 channels together with VoD and multiscreen TV.

“We were carefully analysing and selecting the solution for our new M-net TVplus IPTV service. The project was launched only a few months after kick-off and it was delivered in time. This solution helps us to offer a modern TV proposition with many new features. A compelling TV service as well as highly competitive product bundles will help to direct people to M-net”, says Thomas Bichlmeir, responsible for M-net TVplus.
