Harmonic completes Thomson buyout

Video delivery firm Harmonic has completed its acquisition of compression specialist Thomson Video Networks.

Announcing the closing of the deal, Harmonic president and CEO, Patrick Harshman, said that bringing the two companies together will “further extend our position as the market leader”.

“With expanded global R&D, sales and support teams, we are accelerating innovation and driving delivery of best-in-class solutions, products, capabilities and support services for our customers,” said Harshman.

Harmonic agreed in December to buy 100% of Thomson for roughly US$75 million in cash plus up to US$15 million in post-closing adjustments.
