German cable operator Tele Columbus has teamed up with network-independent mobile service provider Drillisch to add mobile to its service portfolio.

Tele Columbus will use the strategic agreement with Drillisch to provide mobile data and voice via the Telefónica O2 network, with services set to launch in the second half of this year.

Tele Columbus plans to offer a low-cost mobile offering, bundled with its existing TV and broadband services. The offering will include high-speed LTE mobile data. Tele Columbus CEO Ronny VErhelst said that the agreement would enable it to provide a full-service offering from a single source, catering for growing demand for quad-play in the German market.

Tele Columbus will handle marketing, contract management, customer services and billing, while Drillisch will provide network capacity and second-line support.
