Andorran operator first with combined Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for live football

LaLiga DolbyAndorran service provider AndorraeTVeu, using the technology of TVUP Media and The Channel Store, is to offer its subscribers in Andorra Spanish the ultimate stage of top-tier football from LaLiga in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for the first time.

TVUP Streaming Media says it is the first streaming service to offer LaLiga matches with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technology, tapping the infrastructure of The Channel Store, which supports the television service distributed by AndorraeTVeu.

This weekend, in which Barça must defeat Espanyol in the Barcelona derby, AndorraeTVeu will offer the matchday through the LaLigaTV channel in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The deployment, the result of the joint work of Dolby Laboratories and The Chanel Store, allows the two technologies, already common in video on demand, to be combined for live sports broadcasts.

The broadcast will also be the first time that LaLiga matches can be enjoyed with the video and audio technologies of Dolby, following in the footsteps of Premier League and Bundesliga, which are already offering their matches with Dolby Atmos and HDR.

TVUP says that the incorporation of both Dolby’s technologies into channel distribution through The Channel Store will take viewers to the next level. Dolby Vision is a high dynamic range (HDR) video technology designed to improve the visual quality of content, increasing contrast, color accuracy and image brightness, providing a more realistic and vibrant visual experience.

Dolby Atmos is an audio technology originally created for cinema, which immerses the viewer in a surrounding sound environment.

TVUP says that the vast majority of televisions and sound bars under three years old are compatible.

“In the DNA of TVUP Streaming Media and The Channel Store -the B2B division- there has always been and will be leading the implementation of the latest technological advances around digital video and audio. We have a world-class video engineers team who spend part of their time exploring the frontiers of technology creating innovative yet marketable solutions for our partners: operators, publishers, advertisers,” said Fernando García Calvo, CEO of The Channel Store.
