A+E Networks doubles down on CEE original content

A+E Networks CEE has premiered its first local commission on History Channel Romania. On October 31, it aired The Mystery Of Dacian Gold, reflecting the company’s avowed strategy to bring more premium local content to the region.

Izabella Wiley, SVP, general manager A+E Networks CEE, said: “There are so many stories to tell about the past of Romania and how some of those past events still play a role in the present. We begin our Romanian history-telling by exploring The Mystery of Dacian Gold. This is the first docu-series commissioned by the History Channel in Romania, and it delivers straight out of the gate. In the Mystery of Dacian Gold, viewers will hear thrilling stories, find out about unexplained deaths, see beautiful scenery, and learn about the ancient history of the country and the region.”

Heather Jones, chief creative officer EMEA, and general manager UK, added: “Our focus is to commission series with regional narratives and talent. This is just the beginning of our journey into creating even more authentic and original content.”

Elsewhere, History Channel Poland has just premiered a new documentary series, The Hunt for Silesian Treasure. This is the fourth local commission in Poland.
