Sky Deutschland sub-licences Bundesliga match to Sat1 to promote its service

Sky Deutschland and the Seven.One Entertainment Group have reached agreement for a Bundesliga match between Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen to air live on the latter’s free to air channel Sat.1 on November 8th. Sky controls a package of around 200 live Bundesliga games a season until 2024/2025 as part of a four-year deal.

SAT.1 and Sky will broadcast the live game in parallel. As part of the broadcast, Sky will promote its own sports and Bundesliga products.

Commenting, Hans Gabbe, SVP sports rights & commercialization, Sky Germany, said: “Through the agreement with Seven.One Entertainment, we are making the great Sky Bundesliga product and our high-quality editorial reporting available to the general public. With this we are advertising on our own behalf and for the German football in general.”
