Malaysia’s RTM taps Playbox for OTT service

Malaysian state broadcaster Radio Televisyen Malaysia is to use PlayBox Neo channel branding and playout from Playbox for its RTMKlik OTT offering.

Two complete CIAB systems have been integrated into RTM’s headquarters at the Angkasapuri International Broadcast Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

The project was supervised by Selangor-based broadcast system integrator Amrick Solutions in partnership with data storage and broadcast solutions specialist Integriti Padu.
“RTMKlik is one of the most prominent free-to-watch OTT services here in Malaysia. It is currently accessible to more than 20 million viewers. Together with Integriti Padu Sdn. The new system supplied to RTM for its RTMKlik OTT service includes two triple-channel CIABs in primary-plus-one configuration plus a multi playout manager monitoring and control system, according to Playbox.

Each PlayBox Neo CIAB comprises an AirBox Neo-20 playout and IP streaming server, Capture Suite live ingest server, TitleBox Neo-20 interactive graphics and ListBox Neo-20 pre-transmission scheduler.

PlayBox Neo Channel-in-a-Box is a turnkey playout server solution for broadcasting single or multiple television channels in HD or UHD. It provides a workflow combining scheduling, ingest, playout, CG and interactive graphics within one box.
